What is...

fun?...for me, it's often involves making images. Here are some watermarked examples, each of a different character. I've posted a large collection of small seamless textures that are a bit of fun, either as desktop patterns or a texture maps in 3D work.

Please be advised that, though these files are offered free of charge, the material contained in these files is copyrighted by Oliver Masciarotte. These files are not shareware, and cannot be posted in newsgroups, included in ftp sites, or included on CD-ROM, disk or any other medium or method of distribution without prior written permission from me. You cannot reuse them for any purpose, other than as a pattern on your Desktop, without my prior explicit permission. For other use, either electronic or print, contact me and inform me of your intent. The originals, along with a host of other more recent works, are available for license. Also note that all of these images are watermarked.

As these seamless textures are bitmaps, they don't scale well. So, some of them appear in two sizes. I've provided contact sheets so you can evaluate them before downloading. The files are all in PICT format so you can also drag them into the Desktop tab of the Appearance control panel. Wave 1 designs are abstract while Wave 2 are mostly photorealistic

The first four are BinHex'd compressed GIF files while the last is a JPEG...

Once you know which file(s) you want, go to the Cabinet to download. If you would like all of them, mail me & I'll send you the whole collection.

To install these textures as your desktop pattern (Mac OS only), try the following:

In Classic: click the Desktop tab of the Appearance control panel. Then, simply drag an image file on top of the picture in the Control Panel. Voila!

In 10: In the Desktop pane of System Preferences, simply drag an image file onto the “Current Desktop Picture” well. Voila! Or, you can save the file in your Pictures folder (or any other), and use the Chooser Folder… option from the “Collection” popup. Don‘t forget to set the method popup to “Tile.”
